Aerospace & Defense Machining
Our aerospace machine shop has machined and manufactured flight-critical components and assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries. These industries are heavily regulated due to the extreme precision requirements, and MultiSource is an experienced, trusted, and certified supplier to many industry OEMs.
One of our strengths at MultiSource is our ability to understand the manufacturing anomalies of each industry we support. In aerospace/defense, a robust inventory management system is critical, and excellent supply chain management is a requirement. MultiSource recognizes that and is proud to be an industry leader of aerospace CNC machining in these areas.
Aero Machining Experience
We entered the aerospace and defense industry in 1968. Despite all the advancements during the last 40+ years, one facet of the industry has remained unchanged: mission-critical and flight-critical aerospace components require exceptional machining precision. MultiSource has been up to the challenge from day one. From prototype runs to full-scale production and inspection, we partner with our clients every step of the process. We have experience machining and manufacturing parts for several industry components, including:
- Cockpit instrumentation
- Flight deck video systems
- Space systems
- Cargo handling systems
- Airframe components
- Controls and actuators
Capabilities & Services of Our Aerospace Machine Shop
Many manufacturing companies will offer Concurrent Engineering, but at MultiSource, strategic partnership and concurrent engineering practices are embedded in our culture. We work with our clients from the idea and design stages all the way through the production and quality inspection stages. Through this partnership, we help optimize a component’s design, the specification requirements, and perhaps most importantly, its manufacturability. The result is a proven track record for “getting it right the first time”.
MultiSource’s aerospace & defense machining and manufacturing capabilities enable us to work with many different materials. While we routinely work with military grade stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, high-nickel alloys, and plastics, our facilities, tools, and employees are capable of machining almost any material you specify.
Specific aerospace machining capabilities include:
- CNC milling with up to 5 simultaneous axes
- CNC turning with live tooling
- CNC Swiss turning with up to 12 simultaneous axes
MultiSource is registered with the State Department and the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR).
Our aerospace & defense component machining and manufacturing facilities are independently certified to the following standards:
- ISO 9001:2015
- ISO 13485:2016
- AS9100 D
